Algeria:
On occasion of IDoR 2014, the Société Algérienne de Radiologie et d’Imagerie Médicale and SARIM Junior are holding the 7th Junior Workshop in Algiers on November 8, 2014. This year’s theme is brain imaging.

Argentina:
To celebrate the International Day of Radiology 2014 the Sociedad Argentina de Radiología is launching their brandnew website aimed at patients and physicians on November 8, 2014.

Austria:
The Vienna Radiological Symposium (Wiener Radiologisches Symposium) is presenting a series of lectures on MR in neuroimaging, within their yearly meeting, in Vienna on November 8, 2014.

Belarus:
The Belarusian Society of Radiology is holding a conference on up-to-date diagnostic technology for neuroimaging in Minsk on November 14, 2014.

Belgium:
The Belgian Museum of Radiology is holding a lecture on the use of gamma rays in medical and pharmaceutical sterilisation in Brussels on November 8, 2014.

Bolivia:
The Sociedad Boliviana de Radiología is holding an international course on musculoskeletal ultrasound to celebrate the IDoR in La Paz on November 6 and 7, 2014.

Iceland:
The Radiological Society of Iceland is celebrating the International Day of Radiology together with the 100th anniversary of the society with a seminar and a gala dinner in Reykjavik on November 8, 2014.

India:
The Indian Radiological & Imaging Association (IRIA) has invited radiology residents to submit scientific papers on brain imaging. The best papers are presented at a dedicated event at the IRIA Central Office in New Delhi on November 8, 2014.

The Thoothukudi Medical College held an interdepartmental seminar on brain imaging in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, on November 4, 2014.

Iraq:
The Iraqi Association of Radiologists is holding a series of lectures on oncologic imaging in Baghdad on November 9, 2014.

Italy:
The Tuscan chapter of the Società Italiana de Radiologia Medica (SIRM) has decided to hold its yearly congress on the occasion of the IDoR 2014 in Montecatini on November 8, 2014.

Japan:
The Japan Radiological Society will organise a public lecture in Tokyo on November 8, 2014.

Lebanon:
The Lebanese Society of Radiology will organise a seminar on brain imaging, including a presentation entitled, ‘The Discovery of X-Rays, and the Evolution of the X-Ray Tube’, in Beirut on November 8, 2014.

Netherlands:
The Erasmus Medical Center is celebrating IDoR 2014 with a mini symposium on ‘The Past, Present and Future of Brain Imaging’ in Rotterdam on November 7, 2014.

Nigeria:
The National Hospital Abuja organises a symposium on Thursday, November 6, and an open day for patients on Friday, November 7, in Abuja.

Russia:
To celebrate IDoR 2014, the Russian Association of Radiology is holding its annual congress in Moscow, November 6 to 8, 2014.Slovakia:

The Slovak Association of Radiology is holding a conference on neuroradiology in Banská Štiavnica on November 8, 2014.

Spain:
The Sociedad Española de Radiología Médica, in cooperation with Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer, is holding a series of lectures by experts from all over Spain to present the latest developments in brain imaging in Madrid on November 7, 2014.

The Sociedad Española de Graduados en Radiología, the Fundación Reina Sofia, and the Fundación CIEN is celebrating a Special Day with a series of lectures in Madrid on November 8, 2014.

In Barcelona flags and posters with the IDoR logo are decorating some of the most beautiful and important streets.

Sri Lanka:
The Sri Lanka College of Radiologists held a series of lectures on neuro imaging to celebrate IDoR 2014 in Colombo on November 9, 2014.

 

Activities 2013

The publisher Springer celebrates the International Day of Radiology by highlighting publications related to lung imaging and offering free access to book chapters and articles on Marie Curie and Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen.

Algeria:
The Société Algérienne de Radiologie et d’Imagerie Médicale is holding an interactive workshop on thoracic imaging in the Ben Aknoun Hospital in Algiers on November 8.

Australia:
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists is hosting a morning tea at the College in Sydney on November 8, and displaying some old radiology items, photos and books from their archive collection.

Bangladesh:
Radiologists and radiographers united for a colourful Radiography Rallye in Dhaka on November 8, 2013.

Ecuador:
The Sociedad Ecuatoriana de Radiología e Imagenología will hold a special conference on chest imaging in the Panamericana Hospital in Guayaquil on November 8.

India:

Lithuania:
The Lithuanian Radiologists’ Association will hold a conference on ‘Radiology 2013’ with a focus on the IDoR on October 18/19 in Kedainiai, Lithuania. On November 8 a conference on ‘Pulmonary Hypertension’ will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, organised by the Lithuanian Radiologists’ Association together with the Lithuanian Cardiology Society and Vilnius University.

Peru:
The Sociedad Peruana de Radiología will organise an international course on neuroradiology on November 15/16 in Lima with a focus on the International Day of Radiology.

Slovakia:
The Slovak Association of Radiology will organise a conference on chest imaging in Bratislava on November 8, 2013.

Slovenia:
The Slovenian Association of Radiology organised a press conference on the latest achievements in radiology in Ljubljana on November 6, 2013.

Spain:
On November 8, the Sociedad Española de Radiología Médica (SERAM) will organise a public event on lung imaging in Madrid, with a series of lectures and an award ceremony. Both doctors and a patient organisation (Asociación de Familiares y Enfermos de Fibrosis Pulmonar Idiopática y Fibrosis Pulmonar Familiar – AFEFPI) representative are going to give the lectures.

The Asociación Española Técnicos en Radiología will hold a conference on MRI in Alzheimer’s disease research in Madrid on November 8, 2013.

In Barcelona flags and posters with the IDoR logo decorated some of the most beautiful and important streets.

Tunisia:
The association Amicale des Radiologues de Sfax is organising a dedicated series of lectures in Sfax on November 7, 2013.

United Arab Emirates:
The team of the Medical Imaging Dept. at the AHS PACS Center in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. is celebrating the event of IDoR 2013 for the second year with a fantastic IDoR cake.

United Kingdom:
The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) is holding a dedicated meeting on hot topics in thoracic imaging in London on November 8, 2013.

ESOR – European School of Radiology
The ESOR Asklepios Course ‘Multidisciplinary Approach of Cancer Imaging’, taking place in Rome, is dedicating its programme to lung cancer on November 8, 2013.

Activities 2012

France:
The French Society of Radiology (SFR) has made training material for oncologic imaging available online in order to encourage its members to organise training sessions, throughout 2013.
The SFR has also produced posters for the CNRS exhibition ‘La vie en transparence’ as a means of informing the public.

Germany:
The German Radiological Society (DRG) is celebrating the anniversary of Röntgen’s discovery with a birthday mailing to over 2,000 radiological departments. The mailing includes a birthday card, information brochures for patients and, less conventionally, some birthday balloons. A radio spot has also been produced, which points out the benefits brought about by the discovery of x-rays.

Hungary:
The Hungarian Society of Radiologists is holding a series of lectures with the focus on oncologic imaging in Eger on November 8, 2012.

Italy:
The Italian Society of Radiology (SIRM) is holding a dedicated meeting on the occasion of IDoR 2012 in Milan on November 8, 2012.

Japan:
The Japan Radiological Society is holding a round table discussion entitled ‘Open the door for the future of radiology’ on November 8, 2012.

Romania:
The Romanian Society of Radiology and Medical Imaging organised a series of events focusing on oncologic imaging at Fundeni Clinical Institute in Bucharest on November 1 to 3, 2012.

Slovakia:
The Slovak Association of Radiology is holding a symposium on 30 years of CT and 20 years of MRI in Slovakia in Smolenice on November 8, 2012. More information can be found here.

Slovenia:
The Slovenian Association of Radiology is holding a press conference together with the Clinical Radiology Institute UMC Ljubljana on the role of radiology in modern medicine, in Ljubljana on November 7, 2012.

Spain:
The Spanish Society of Radiology (SERAM) is hosting en event together with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Madrid on November 8, 2012. There will be a press conference and a series of lectures on the role of imaging in oncology. More information ca be found here.

United Kingdom:
The Royal College of Radiologists is inviting the public to a free lecture on ‘Medical sports imaging and the 2012 Olympics’ at the Wellcome Collection, London, on November 8.
